Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson Set For UFC 264

ESPN reports that a fight between welterweights Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson has been added to UFC 264 on July 10. The contracts have not been signed yet but verbal agreements are in place. A location has not been named for the event at this time. The show will be headlined by a fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.

Burns’ last fight was a loss against Kamaru Usman at UFC 258 in February. Prior to that, he had a four-fight win streak between 2019 and 2020 against names like Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley. Thompson’s last fight was a decision win over Geoff Neal on December 19. He also recently picked up a win over Vincente Luque.
