Luan Chagas Not Happy With His UFC 198 Fight Against Sergio Moraes
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Luan Chagas (14-1-1 MMA, 0-0-1 UFC) said he is not happy with his draw against Sergio Moraes (10-2-1 MMA, 4-1-1 UFC) at UFC 198 this past Saturday. Here are highlights:
On the draw: “I’m not happy with the draw. I wanted the win. To me, I won the fight. But it’s not our call, it’s the judges’. If they think I didn’t win the second round – I thought I won the first and the second. But they said I lost the second. I didn’t see that. But OK, it’s part of the game. That’s why we’re here.”
On the fight being worth watching: “I believe everyone came here to see a show, and they did with that fight. I took this with 13 days’ notice, and I was able to impose my game – not the way I wanted, but at least a little. I’ll come back, much better prepared to get a win, not a draw.”
On returning to action sooner rather than later: “I’m ready for the next one. My legs need some recovering because of the kicks, but we’re ready for the next one. Another month and we can go return to the octagon.”
