Manny Pacquiao could be Conor McGregor’s next high-profile boxing fight. Pacquiao says that talks have begun for the fight, telling AFP (courtesy of Yahoo!) that the fight is tentatively being discussed for April.

“If we can negotiate it, I have no problem. It is OK with both of us,” Pacquiao said when asked if he was seeking a fight with McGregor. When asked if he’s talked with McGregor’s reps, he said, “Initially, but we have not yet had any follow-up conversations.”

Pacquiao said that his next fight would have to take place during the Phillippines’ Senate recess; he is a Senator in the country. He said that McGregor is one of a few opponents being considered, saying, “It depends who they can finalize as my opponent by April.”

Pacquiao teased the possibility of a fight with McGregor last month, posting to Instagram to wish the fighter a Happy Thanksgiving and adding, “Stay fit my friend. #realboxingmatch #2018”
