Charlotte Flair Reveals Ric Flair’s Weirdest Dad Trait

As in the case of Cody Rhodes, Charlotte Flair mostly got to have her famous father Ric Flair at home when she was growing up, while two of her older siblings did not. They lived in a small town, and on the whole they lived what seemed a normal life.
Asked on the latest edition of The Heyman Hustle, however, if there was anything abnormal about him as a dad, she cited one thing that stood out as different, and it’s probably not what you think.
“I remember in high school a couple of the parents rolled their eyes when it was my dad’s turn to bring us snacks for after the game,” she recalls. “He’d bring, like, Power Bars, and that’s when they were just kind of getting popular, like the Met-RX bars. So they were just kind of, like, why is he bringing that? But I was used to it because that’s what he was into.”
She only really got a sense of how famous Ric was when he officially retired in 2008. “All these people, like these grown men are crying that he’s retiring!” she said. “And then when I graduated college and realized that Reid really wanted to get into the business, he would spend every single day that he was home just watching YouTube videos and then playing them for me. whether it was, you know, promos with Dusty or Macho Man, a lot of Sting, the Four Horsemen, and he would play them for me, and I’m like, ‘Okay, you know, like that’s cool.'”
“Like, dad had the big hair, the glasses, and could cut a promo, but I just really wasn’t into it. I don’t think I really even grasped again what he meant until I started at FCW and realized like, oh, he wrestled for most of my life.”
