Michel Prazeres Explains His Gameplan From UFC on FOX 20
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Michel Prazeres (20-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) spoke about his win over JC Cottrell (17-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC on FOX 20, which came by decision. Here are highlights:
On praise for JC Cottrell: “He comes in for all or nothing. I have a name already established in the UFC. He’s got nothing to lose, so that’s why I had to be a little more cautious.”
On how he trained: “What I trained for was to take him down, and at the end loosen up my hands, and that’s exactly what you saw. The people in my area really train a lot of judo, a lot of wrestling, so I really like doing that. I think it’s a really good-looking and beautiful way of fighting. I thought it was a good win. I came in to stop his momentum. He was debuting in the UFC, so I went in, and I did what we trained to do.”
On what he wants to do now: “I want to go back and fight in the next Brazilian event. I have fought away now for my last three fights. I feel it’s time to go back to my fans.”
