Stefan Struve Not Worried About Rankings

May 31, 2017 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Stefan Struve spoke with MMAjunkie for a new interview. The highlights are below:

On his time off due to injury: “It was an annoying four months. Now finally I’m able to hit the pads again. I feel there’s still a little bit of work to do, but it’s already so much better than it was before the surgery. So, I’m feeling great. … I’m finally getting to where I belong in my opinion.”

On his ranking: “If I look at my division, I don’t care about those rankings. But if you look at the guys who are ranked above me, I feel I beat most of them, and I already got a win over the champion. Of course, he grew a lot, but he’s still the same guy. Simple as that. I beat him, and I can beat him again.”

On his fight with Alexander Volkov: “I feel that I’m the best fighter he has faced in his career so far. And I’m planning to show that. He gets away with a lot of things because he uses his length. he’s a little lazy with some things. Some guys cannot reach his chin when he throws certain things, but I’ll be able to reach it.”
