Academy Awards to Joke About Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels’ Alleged Affair

Sunday night’s Academy Awards will poke fun at the headline-grabbing alleged affair between Donald Trump and adult film star Stormy Daniels. TMZ reports that according to sources close to daniels, the production team from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences contacted her late last week for permission to use the 2006 photo of Trump and Daniels at a golf clubhouse. The picture is from a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe and was where Daniels first met Trump, she has said.

Reports surfaced earlier this year about the alleged affair and Trump Foundation lawyer Michael Cohen has acknowledged paying her $130,000 from his own money, but added, “Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with [Daniels], and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly.”

Daniels’ camp has signed off on using the photo. It is not clear when or how the image will be used in the ceremony, whether during Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue or during another joke later in the show. The Oscars take place tonight at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET and air on ABC.
