The Star Trek franchise is alive and well on CBS All-Access, and two more series are on the way according to Alex Kurtzman. Kurtzman, who is the head of the franchise, spoke with Trek Core at the TCA winter press tour where he revealed there’s plenty more of the science fiction setting to come.

Kurtzman told the site that “There are two more live action shows that haven’t been announced yet.” These would be in addition to the already-known Star Trek: Discovery (which launches its third season this year), Star Trek: Picard (premiering next week) and the Section 31 series that will star Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou. CBS also has an animated comedy from Mike McHahan (Rick & Morty) titled Star Trek: Lower Decks in development.

Kurtzman said that they are taking things as they come and listening to the fans, noting, “I think it’s really important for us to take it piece by piece. Part of this, too, is getting reactions from people. Before we lock things, down it’s terribly important to listen to fans, and hear what they like — and what they didn’t respond to — or what wasn’t clear, and make sure we’re tacking accordingly. I learned when I started working in the Star Trek world that that’s a really essential part of making these shows. You have to listen carefully and understand that sometimes when people are complaining about things, they’re actually complaining about something else; there’s a different problem [below the surface] and you have to get to the root of that problem. So I want to give a little room to learn from people’s reactions.”
