Alien: Romulus Teaser Trailer Showcases the Terrifying Return of the Xenomorphs

The iconic sci-fi/horror franchise, Alien, returns to theaters later this summer with a brand-new installment. 20th Century Studios dropped the first teaser trailer this week for Alien: Romulus, the new film set after the events of the 1979 classic film. Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) takes the helm of the upcoming “interquel,” directing from a script he co-wrote with longtime collaborator Rodo Sayagues. Ridley Scott, who directed the 1979 original film and its prequels Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, produces the project.

The new film finds a crew of space colonizers discovering a derelict space station while scavenging on the deep ends of space. However, they soon come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe: the Xenomorphs.

Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. It’s also produced by original Alien producer Walter Hill, with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O’Connor, and Tom Moran executive producing the project. It hits theaters on August 16.
