Amber Tamblyn Joins FX’s Y: The Last Man Pilot

Amber Tamblyn will play the daughter of the president in FX’s pilot Y, based on the comic book Y: The Last Man. THR reports that Tamblyn has been cast as Mariette Callows in the project. The daughter of the US president, she is described as “someone who has been groomed for a career in politics and to uphold her father’s conservative values.”

Tamblyn joins a cast that includes Barry Koeoghan as Yorick Brown, Diane Lane as Senator Jennifer Brown, Imogen Poots as Hero Brown, Lashana Lynch as Agent 355, Juliana Canfield as Beth, and Marin Ireland as Nora. Melina Matsoukas will direct the pilot, with Michael Green and Aida Mashaka Croal serving as as co-showrunners.

In the series, all of the men are dead. But one. Based on the DC comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y traverses a world of women — exploring gender, race, class and survival.
