Austin Amelio Returning as Dwight for Fear the Walking Dead

Comicbook.com reports that Austin Amelio will be returning to the role of Dwight for the spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead. He is the second crossover character to be joining the cast for the series alongside Lennie James as Morgan Jones.

Original series cast members Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, and Danay Garcia are reportedly remaining as part of the cast for the show’s fifth season. Dwight (Austin Amelio) himself has not appeared since the show’s Season Eight finale, when the character was exiled from Alexandria and told never to return.

Previously, Chief Content Officer for the franchise, Scott Gimple, discussed future crossovers. He stated to media at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con: “It does not [rule out more crossovers]. That’s about all I got to say. It does not but I wouldn’t expect it all the time. Things could happen. You never know who might pop up on Fear the Walking Dead. That includes The Walking Dead and potentially people in the past from Fear the Walking Dead.”

Both shows currently air on AMC.
