The re-adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter has received its expected R rating. The MPPA has issued an R rating for the Blumhouse take on the classic pyrokinetic novel, making the reveal today.

The film, which began production last year, is rated R for “violent content.” The film is directed by Keith Thomas, who directed last year’s horror film The Vigil, and stars Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Charlie, Zac Efron as Charlie’s father Andy, Sydney Lemmon as Charlie’s mother Vicky, Michael Greyeyes as the assassin Rainbird, and Gloria Reuben.
