EON Studios and MGM officially announced the production, cast and filming details for Bond 25, which is the still untiled 25th James Bond film. Principal photography will kick off for the sequel in mere days on April 28. Cary Joji Fukunaga directs the film, which stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his fifth outing as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Scott Z. Burns are handling script duties.

MGM will release the film through its United Artists Releasing banner on April 8, 2020 and through Universal Pictures International and MGM in the UK and international territories on April 3, 2020.

Returning cast members from previous films include Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Miss Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann), Ben Whishaw (Q), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter). Wright has not appeared as a Bond film as Leiter since 2008’s Quantum of Solace. New cast members include Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek. Here’s an official story synopsis that was released:

“Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

The production will be based at Pinewood Studios in the UK and will film on location in London, Italy, Jamaica and Norway. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli stated on the announcement, “We’re thrilled to return to Jamaica with Bond 25, Daniel Craig’s fifth instalment in the 007 series, where Ian Fleming created the iconic James Bond character and Dr No and Live And Let Die were filmed.”

Today’s production launch for the film took place at GoldenEye in Jamaica, which is the former home of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. This is where he also created the character in 1952. While the film is going to shoot in Jamaica, GoldenEye won’t be a filming location for the upcoming sequel.

Unfortunately, there’s still no title yet.
