Charles Manson Documentary In The Works
TMZ reports that a documentary about the life and death of Charles Manson is in the works, with Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans executive producing. The crew began to film just before Manson’s death. It will cover his life, news of his death and the legal battle over his remains, as well as footage of his open casket funeral. The film’s working title is Manson’s Bloodline.
Bagans said he came up with the idea after meeting Manson’s grandson Jason Freeman for an interview the show Deadly Possessions. Bagans was on the show after acquiring one of Manson’s televisions from prison. The two became friends and he learned that Freeman wanted to meet his grandfather. So the documentary focuses on Freeman’s attempts to do that. The prison system didn’t let the visit happen, but he was able to view the body at the funeral. Several networks are in talks to air it.
Freeman was granted custody of the body but the legal battle over the estate is still ongoing.
