Charlie Cox Says His Daredevil Isn’t In Next Spider-Man
Charlie Cox is pouring cold water on rumors that he will be reprising his role as Daredevil in the next Spider-Man film. Cox spoke with ComicBook.com and was asked about the rumor that Cox would be playing Matt Murdock in the film as the laywer who tries to help resolve the legal issues Peter Parker has to deal with due to the fallout of Far From Home’s ending.
“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil,” Cox said. “I’m not involved in it… If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”
As always, there are a lot of reasons why Cox may be wrong; he could be keeping secret in order to protect spoilers. That said, Cox is all for the idea of joining the MCU, saying, “Look, I had a great time. I’m so grateful I got to play that character as long as I did. Of course, I’d love to keep going. I’d love to be involved with it … As a fan of the Marvel movies, I’ve loved the little stuff where they pop up here and there but because we were on Netflix, we weren’t able to do as much for legal reasons, I don’t know why. But I love the idea of Jessica [Jones] and Matt showing up in the background or Matt as a lawyer advising Peter Parker. That’d be really, really cool.”
Shooting on the new film has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is set to release on November 5th, 2021.
