Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer Adds Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz

Christopher Nolan’s latest film Oppenheimer, has bolstered its cast with Solo star Alden Ehrenreich and David Krumholtz. THR reports that Ehrenreich and Krumholtz have signed on to co-star in the the Cillian Murphy-led biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the men who created the atomic bomb.

The two join a cast that includes Murphy, who is playing the physicist who famously said, “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds” after witnessing the first test detonation. The star-studded ensemble also includes Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid and Matthew Modine.

The film is described as an “epic thriller” by Universal Pictures, who begin shooting on the film later this month in New Mexico. It is the first film from Nolan since Tenet, which had a delayed release due to the pandemic. Nolan is shooting his first film outside of Warner Bros. since Memento.

Ehrenreich is best known for his role as a young Han Solo in A Star Wars Story. His breakthrough role was in the Coen brothers’ Hail, Caesar!.

Krumholtz has starred in CBS’ Numbers, as well as HBO’s The Deuce and The Plot Against America.
