Lionsgate Moving Forward With Den of Thieves 3

Den Of Thieves is now a full-blown franchise, as Lionsgate is moving forward with a third film. THR reports that the studio has given the go-ahead for Den Of Thieves 3 following the release of the second film, Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera earlier this month.
Pantera is doing well for the studio so far with $32.7 million domestically and $47.7 million worldwide alongside its PVOD release on Tuesday. The third film will see Gerard Butler return as “Big Nick” O’Brien from the first two films; Butler will also produce through his G-Base production company as will Tucker Tooley and his Tucker Tooley Entertainment.
O’Shea Jackson Jr., who plays Donnie Wilson in the franchise, is also expected to return with franchise creator Christian Gudegast back to direct. The first film was set in Los Angeles and followed Nick and Donnie on opposite sides of a massive bank heist, while the second film moved to Europe where the two teamed up alongside a crew for a diamond heist. A twist at the end of the second film set up the potential sequel, which Gudegast said earlier this month was “already pitched.”
