The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise will ramp up the action in the third film, and Dan Fogler gave a bit of a tease for what’s to come. Fogler, who plays Jacob Kowalski in the trilogy, spoke with SyFy Wire for a new interview and talked a bit about what’s to come.

While obviously not giving too much away, Fogler said, “I can say I read the script and the character development is really lovely and it’s very similar to the feel of the first movie, which I think is great. It’s leading toward this massive war with the backdrop of World War II, so you can just imagine epic battle scenes are coming.”

The third film is currently on a production pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there’s no word as of yet as to whether it will have to be pushed from its November 12th, 2021 release date. Fogler gave an update on that as well, saying, “We’re just waiting. I guess when everybody else starts [back up], when the mechanism starts to move again and everybody starts to get back to work, that’s when we’ll get back to work. Hopefully, sooner than later.”

The film is set mostly in the 1930s and sees Eddie Redmayne, Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Claudia Kim, Callum Turner, William Nadylam, and Jessica Williams reprising their roles.
