Daniel Craig famously had a cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a Stromtrooper, and he recently talked about the experience and how the suit didn’t fit. Craig, who is currently on Netflix screens in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, appeared on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast and talked about the film, his Force Awakens role and more. You can check out a couple of highlights below, per CBR and JoBlo:

Daniel Craig on asking for a role in The Force Awakens: “I love Star Wars — I wouldn’t have asked to be in it otherwise. Ben Dixon, who’s an assistant director on those movies and he was an AD on [Spectre] as well, and I was doing fittings. I asked him, ‘Could I get a part in this?’ And he just said, ‘Let me go and ask.’ The next day, I was in a f**king Stormtrooper suit.”

On the suit not fitting him: “They do not fit! … I had to wear the thing all day and I couldn’t feel my hands by the end of the day. These poor people have to wear them in the desert — I wouldn’t have done it if I had to go to Tunisia.”

On getting an actual scene as the Stormtrooper: “I just thought I was going to stand in the back holding a gun…I would have been happy with that, but yet he gave me a scene.”

On doing more Knives Out movies with Rian Johnson: “As long as the two of us are still having fun, and as long as we can continue to make these truly new experiences each time, and find new ways to challenge ourselves…The second we feel like we’re repeating ourselves, or just turning a crank on a machine, we’ll stop.”
