HBO Max’s Dune: The Sisterhood series has its official showrunner in Diane Ademu-John. Variety reports that Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Originals) will write, showrun, and executive produce the series, which is set in the universe of the franchise and is a prequel to the Denis Villeneuve films. Villeneuve will direct the pilot for the series.

Dune: The Sisterhood is told through the eyes of a mysterious order of women known as the Bene Gesserit. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weave through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.

As noted previously, Warner Bros. released the latest trailer for the film earlier today ahead of its October 22nd release date in theaters and on HBO Max.
