Ewan McGregor Cast as Black Mask in Birds of Prey

Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of Birds of Prey as the primary villain, Black Mask. The Wrap reports that McGregor has signed onto the role of the Batman villain in the film, joining Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jurnee Smollet-Bell (Black Canary), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Huntress), and Rosie Perez (Renee Montoya).

The film will feature Harley, Canary and Huntress teaming up with Renee Montoya to take on the Black Mask. A report last month said that the masked mob boss will kidnap Cassandra Cain in order to groom her to replace Huntress as his chief assassin. That causes the heroes to band together and rescue Cassie early in the film, followed by the group trying to evade Black Mask’s forces and keep Cassandra safe.

Birds of Prey is set for release on February 7th, 2020.
