Ewan McGregor Confirmed For Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series

It’s official: Ewan McGregor is returning to the Jedi Order for a Disney+ series. At D23 Expo, it was announced that McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new series. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy revealed that nearly all the scripts are written for the series, with production kicking off next year.
The news comes after it was reported earlier this month that McGregor was in talks for the series. There were once plans for an Obi-Wan solo spinoff film, but Solo’s box office failure scuttled that project.
McGregor played the role in all the Star Wars prequels, and did a minor voice cameo in The Force Awakens.
