Harvey Weinstein Says Alleged Rape Victim Went To His Movie Screening After She Claims He Raped Her

December 7, 2018 | Posted by Joseph Lee

TMZ reports that Harvey Weinstein claims that the woman who said he raped her appeared at his movie screening hours after the incident allegedly happened. His legal team sent a letter to the judge in the case, claiming they found an email between his assistant and a friend of the victim. The email is an invitation to the screening to the unnamed woman and three guests.

The woman replied that she is “going just with (name redacted).” Weinstein’s lawyer Ben Brafman said the guests was one of the victims. The rape happened the morning of March 18, 2013 and the email happened later that afternoon. According to Brafman, the friend said that the victim attended and met with Weinstein at the screening. Brafman claims that this is “strong evidence that she was not raped,” questioning why she would “go out of her way to spend time with her ‘rapist’ merely hours” after the incident.” The friend previously claimed that the victim was “hooking up” with the producer for “a very long time” and never heard her say anything bad about him.
