Hulu’s Hellraiser Film Earns R Rating From MPAA

To the surprise of almost no one, Hulu’s Hellraiser has earned an R rating from the MPAA. As Bloody Disgusting reports, the David Bruckner-directed film, which is set to arrive on the streaming service, has earned an R from the ratings board.
The rating is explained by the MPAA as being for “Strong bloody horror violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual content, and brief graphic nudity.”
There’s no word as of yet of a release date for the film, which will star Jamie Clayton as the Hell Priest along with Odessa A’zion, Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo, and Hiam Abbass. Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski wrote the new film, which is expected to release sometime this year but does not yet have a release date. It is described as follows:
In this reimagining of Clive Barker’s seminal Hellraiser franchise, a young woman must confront the sadistic, supernatural forces behind an enigmatic puzzlebox responsible for her brother’s disappearance.”
