A crew member on location in Morocco shooting Indiana Jones 5 has passed away. Deadline reports that Nic Cupac, who was a second unit grip on the sequel, died suddenly at the age of 54. Details on the death have not been revealed, though the outlet reports that it was not related to the production of the film.

Cupac had worked on a variety of films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Assassin’s Creed, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and this year’s Cruella and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. A spokesperson for Lucasfilm said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Nic Cupac, an incredibly talented colleague and member of the film community who will be greatly missed.”

Indiana Jones 5 is directed by James Mangold and will release on June 30th, 2023. On behalf of 411, our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Cupac.
