James Wan Producing Remake of Arachnophobia

Deadline reports that James Wan is set to produce a remake of the 1990 “thrill-omedy” Arachnophobia for Amblin. Wan will produce through Atomic Monster but won’t actually direct. A writer will be hired soon.

The original film was directed by Frank Marshall (who will also executive produce the remake) and starred Jeff Daniels and John Goodman. It followed a deadly species of South American spider that ends up in the US and breeds with a common household spider, creating a breed of highly-venomous arachnids.
