Jason Momoa To Play Lobo In Supergirl: World Of Tomorrow
Jason Momoa is back in the DCU — as Lobo, who he will play in the upcoming Supergirl: World Of Tomorrow. Deadline reports that the actor, who previously played Aquaman in the now-defunct DCEU, will play The Main Man himself in the DC Universe. He will play the role in the aforementioned Supergirl movie, which stars Milly Alcock as the titular character and is directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira.
Momoa has long been a fan of Lobo and previously expressed an interest in playing the character. He confirmed his casting in a post on Instagram, sharing a quote from an interview where he said that if DC ever asked him to play the role or audition, he’d be there. He captioned the post, “They called.”
Momoa joins a cast that includes Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hill, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle. Plot details are under wraps for the film, which begins shooting in mid-January and is based off Tom King’s 2022 comic book series of the same name.
Lobo has been a fan favorite character in DC Comics since he debuted in Omega Men #3 in June of 1983. An intergalactic bounty hunter who is the last of his species from the planet Czarnia, he is known for his spacefaring motorcycle, cigars, biker attitude and wisecracks.
