Amazon has officially fired star Jeffrey Tambor from Transparent after concluding an investigating into sexual harassment allegations. Amazon confirmed the news on Thursday in a statement (per THR), saying that they had completed their investigation and as a result, Tambor will have no role in the show’s fifth season.

Creator Jill Soloway said in a statement, “I have great respect and admiration for Van Barnes and Trace Lysette, whose courage in speaking out about their experience on Transparent is an example of the leadership this moment in our culture requires. We are grateful to the many trans people who have supported our vision for Transparent since its inception and remain heartbroken about the pain and mistrust their experience has generated in our community. We are taking definitive action to ensure our workplace respects the safety and dignity of every individual, and are taking steps to heal as a family.”

In November, Tambor was accused of sexual harassment by Barnes, his former assistant on the show, and Lysette who is his co-star. Tambor denied the allegations and issued a statement in which he said he didn’t “see how I can return” to the show.

Amazon began an internal investigation when the allegations were made public, and has been looking into the claims since. Their official decision today marks the conclusion of the investigation.
