John Barrowman Returning For Arrow’s Final Season

John Barrowman is set to don Malcolm Merlyn’s hood once again for Arrow’s final run. Stephen Amell revealed at Fan Expo Boston (per ComicBook.com) that Barrowman will return as Oliver Queen’s nemesis in the upcoming eighth and final season of the series.

Amell did not reveal how many episodes Barrowman will be in. Merlyn died in the fifth season finale, sacrificing himself to kill Digger Harkness and a group of enemies amidst Team Arrow’s escape from Lian Yu. He made a brief cameo in the Elseworlds crossover as a hallucination brought on by Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and appeared in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow via time travel.

The show returns for its final run on The CW on October 15th.
