The most recent Star Wars trilogy may be over, but Kathleen Kennedy says they aren’t forgetting about those characters when it comes to potential stories. The Lucasfilm boss spoke with Empire for an interview discussing the upcoming Book of Boba Fett series and was asked about the third generation of characters that included Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, and Poe Dameron among others.

“Certainly, those are not characters we’re going to forget,” Kennedy said about the Sequel Trilogy. “They will live on, and those are conversations that are going on with the creative team as well.”

None of the characters introduced in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, or The Rise of Skywalker currently have new screen projects based around them in the works that we know about, but it sounds like Lucasfilm is leaving the possibility open of exploring them if a creative team has a pitch.

Meanwhile, the sci-fi fantasy universe has a host of projects coming to the small screen via Disney+ including the Boba Fett series, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Rogue One prequel Andor as well as the animated Star Wars: The Bad Batch and an upcoming third season of The Mandalorian.
