Kelsey Grammer Pays Tribute To Frasier Dad John Mahoney

As we previously reported, actor Johh Mahoney, best known for playing Martin Crane on Fraiser, passed away at the age of 77 due to brain disease and lung cancer. In a post on Twitter, Kelsey Grammer paid tribute to his TV dad. He wrote:

The two co-starred on the series from 1993 to 2004. In an interview with The Rich Eisen Show from 2016, Grammer spoke about working with Mahoney.

He said: “John Mahoney had done an appearance on one of the final episodes of ‘Cheers,’ and he was so funny in it, and I so enjoyed spending time with him during that period. When we finished the pilot script [for “Frasier”], I called him and said, ‘I want you to have a look at this. I want you to play my dad.’ He called a day later and said, ‘I’m in.’“
