Kevin Williamson Wants Neve Campbell To Return to Scream Franchise

Neve Campbell skipped out on this year’s Scream VI, but series creator Kevin Williamson would love to see her return. As reported, Campbell declined to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in the sixth film due to a salary dispute. Williamson recently appeared on the Happy Horror Time podcast and said that he wants to see Campbell back in the franchise, saying, “All I can say is, ‘Pay her the money.'”

Williamson was asked by the hosts about Campbell’s decision to drop out of Scream VI and said (per Deadline) that he respected her decision. He noted, “I know her well. I love and adore her, and that’s what she did and it’s great for her. I love everyone involved with Scream and all I can say is, ‘Pay her the money.’ Yes, you heard it, everyone. That’s what I would do. I would give her that.”

He noted, “One day, they’ll figure that all out.”

The sixth film was a hit, grossing $168.8 million worldwide against a $35 million budget. A seventh film is in the works with Christopher Landon set to direct.
