Krysten Ritter Reacts to Jessica Jones Cancellation, Marvel TV Head Says ‘To Be Continued’
Krysten Ritter took to Instagram to react to the cancellation of Jessica Jones, but Jeph Loeb teased some hope for fans for the Netflix Marvel roster. The star of the series shared her thoughts on the cancellations, which came yesterday alongside that of The Punisher amidst strong speculation that they would be seeing their last runs on Netflix.
You can see the post from Ritter below, in which she thank their fellow cast members and fans. She added, “The final season of Jessica Jones is coming later this year and I am proud of how we complete JJ’s journey. I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
Meanwhile, Jeph Loeb hinted that we may not be done with these characters. The Marvel TV head posted an open letter to fans on Marvel.com in which he thanked fans and concluded with a bit of encouragement, noting, “Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that. As Matthew Murdock’s Dad once said, ‘The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.’ To be continued…!”
While we will no doubt see these characters soon, it may not be for a while. Netflix reportedly has exclusive rights to the characters until 2020. Hulu’s executive Craig Erwich said recently that they are open to potentially reviving the shows.
