Marvel Developing Falcon/Winter Soldier Series For Disney Streaming Service

Marvel Studios has hired a writer to script a limited series for Falcon and Winter Soldier to air on Disney’s streaming service. Variety reports that Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been tapped to write the potential series, which would see Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie reprise their roles as Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson.

The news follows a report in September that several similar series were in the works, including ones for Scarlett Witch and Loki. The series will be six to eight episodes and feature budgets rivalling those of major studio productions.

Kevin Feige will be “heavily involved” with the series, which will spotlight characters who aren’t getting their own solo films.
