Hello Folx! Tonight we are at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the 16th Money in the Bank! Money in the Bank has long been a June staple for the WWE. But after deciding to go back to Las Vegas for a second WrestleMania in a row. The WWE shuffled the schedule and gave New Orleans Money in the Bank this year.

My first anniversary was back in June. But Money in the Bank was my very first preview. So it will always hold a special place for me. And I’m very excited to bring you all the preview action!

This was written before the announcement that Reigns vs Knight would open the show

Speaking of, let’s do the rundown! Bronson Reed looks to make a statement as he takes on Oba Femi! Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jane, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton will all compete to be the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank winner! Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk, and Kevin Owens will all compete to be the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank winner!

Stephanie Vaquer will defend her Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan! And in our main event, LA Knight challenges Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship!

This is a part of the ongoing Femi vs. Breakker feud, and with Breakker in the MitB match, this gives Femi something to do on the card that can still build heat for the feud. Which is a bit frustrating, because it looks like the returning Reed is going to eat a loss here.

The guy came back in amazing shape, has all the tools to be in the Intercontinental Championship scene, and he is still being treated as the pin eater in a group that has Austin Theory. My hope is that this turns into a big brawl that ends in a double DQ. Neither man has to take a loss, and they can come out of it without losing heat.

In fact, that is what I’m going to predict: some sort of double DQ or count-out. No winners, but no losers either. They can have a huge arena brawl, just beating the crap out of each other until the ref has to throw it out.

Winner: No Contest

I like how this match only has one former champion in it. It’s a good callback to what the MitB started as. A chance for someone who has never been champion before. There are also a lot of interesting paths to take here.

But first, let’s go over the women who most likely won’t win. Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. Legend is still green and isn’t ready to move up the card. She is there to be a powerhouse and a base to bump off of. But isn’t going to win.

Stratton is a former champion and has fallen down the card a bit since returning. I think she is better suited to the United States Championship scene for right now. Let her recapture some of her old magic and work her way back up.

That leaves Ruca, Vice, Perez, and Jane. I am always in favor of a heel holding the case over a face. It just suits them better. So, while i think Ruca and Vice are going to be doing great things soon. I think this comes down to Jane or Perez. And I think Perez has the best story to tell.

Going from the underdog of the Judgement Day to being the one to take the title from Vaquer will be great, and it can help drive a wedge between her and Liv. So, I think it’s Perez’s time to shine, and we will see how Liv reacts to someone else in her group holding her title.

Triple Threat for the Women’s World Championship
Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan vs Stephanie Vaquer

This should be a good Triple Threat. Not on par with IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair, but still good. Vaquer maintained her heat while out of action, and the time off let her improve her English. Not that she needed that, because her Spanish promos were transcending the language barrier. But it can help her connect to fans in a new way.

Lynch, maintaining her delusional, egotistical self, has allowed herself to be a bit of a tweener. She isn’t siding with Vaquer; she just hates Morgan that much. That also makes her the wildcard in the match. She isn’t going to help Vaquer against the Judgement Day, unless it serves her own interests.

And that means Rodriguez and Perez are free to attack Vaquer, while Lynch stays busy with Morgan. This will put the champion at a huge disadvantage, as she has to overcome not just the Judgement Day but Lynch as well.

But in the end, I think she will pull out a win. She will be beaten down, and barely able to make the cover. But she will find a way to win…but that leads into the actual finish. Morgan, Lynch, and Vaquer are all out. Perez is already at ringside, and she just won Money in the Bank. So, while Vaquer will win the Triple-Threat, Perez is cashing in and becoming the new Women’s World Champion!

Winner and still Women’s World Champion: Stephanie Vaquer

Money in the Bank Cash-In and New Women’s World Champion: Roxanne Perez

Men’s Money in the Bank
Bron Breakker vs Je’Von Evans vs Trick Williams vs Penta vs CM Punk vs Kevin Owens

I know I said I prefer a heel to hold the case, and I stand by that. But this field is stacked, and the only pure heel in the bunch is Breakker. And while I could see him winning it and even cashing it in after the main event. A. I don’t think they are doing that twice on the same show. B. He is still wrapped up in his story with Oba Femi. So, unless he holds it until WrestleMania and cashes in on Femi after Femi wins a World Championship. It just doesn’t seem like it’s his time.

Owens and Punk are already caught up in the Undisputed WWE Championship scene, so they don’t need the case. And I also hope Owens and Balor finally win another WWE Championship during this storyline. That leaves Penta, Williams, and Evans. And while Evans is doing great things, he is young and has tons of time left to fully develop before moving up to the World Championship scene.

So Williams or Penta? Penta winning would be a huge pop and give him an opportunity to challenge Roman again. Williams is coming off a feud with Corbin and is the current United States Champion. His gimmick works well for the case, and it could push him further up the card. But with the current scene on SmackDown, I don’t see a spot for him right this second. That can change in a year, but I don’t like the case going to someone who they are hoping they will figure out a story for.

So, that leaves us with Penta. And honestly, I think a Penta win could work. You could have him go the RVD route and challenge Reigns for a big match ahead of time. Héroes Inmortales is just a few weeks away, and Guerra de Titanes is in December. So, we could get a Penta vs. Reigns rematch at a big AAA show. And imagine the pop Penta would get if he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico, at a AAA event? He could run with the title until the Royal Rumble, lose it back to Reigns, and be solidified as a main event star.

World Heavyweight Championship
LA Knight vs. Roman Reigns

All logic says this is going to be another victory for Reigns. And I’m resigned to that fact. I will even predict he is winning. But in my heart, I want to see LA Knight win. If he did, I would change my Money in the Bank prediction to Breakker. Then Breakker cashes in on Knight. But no, not tonight. This is Reigns’ story to tell, and all I can do is hope Knight does finally get a chance. In a world where Zayn, Balor, Owens, and Gargano are in the top storyline on SmackDown. It isn’t far-fetched for LA Knight to finally win a World Championship.

As for tonight, though, it will be a hard-fought contest, with Knight pulling out all the stops. Only for Reigns to find a way to put him away in the end. I could also see some Bloodline and 946 involvement. Which would actually make a good distraction; the two groups brawl into the ringside area, Knight gets distracted, and Roman gets the win. It’ll protect Knight. And give him a reason to challenge Reigns again down the road.

In the end, no matter how it ends, Roman will walk out as Champion, but his days may be numbered if a certain Zero Fear Luchador becomes Mr. Money in the Bank!

Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Roman Reigns
