Former WWE Champion Sheamus recently provided an update on his current status. The Celtic Warrior attended the watch party for Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich, where he was introduced as an “ex-luchador.” This prompted a response from Sheamus, who revealed that he is currently on a “long vacation.”
“Did you say ex-luchador? I’m just taking time off. I’m just chilling, I’m just relaxing. I’m on a vacation. A long vacation,” he said.
As noted, Sheamus exited WWE in early July 2026 after reportedly declining a restructured new deal offered by the TKO-owened company. Since then, there have been speculations about him joining All Elite Wrestling.
However, Fightful Select recently reported that there doesn’t seem to be a huge urgency in bringing him in, though talents like Adam Copeland and Claudio Castagnoli have been vocal about them wanting to see the Irish pro wrestler in the company.
Sheamus last wrestled on the November 17, 2025, episode of WWE RAW, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to triumph over The Judgment Day. He subsequently picked up a shoulder injury and was consigned to the bench.
