Marvel Developing Nova Project With Moon Knight Writer
Marvel is going in on bringing Nova into the MCU, with a project reportedly being developed with Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada. Deadline reports that Pirzada has been tapped to write the project, which will be produced as usual by Kevin Feige.
It is not yet known if the project will be done as a film or as a Disney+ limited series similar to Moon Knight, Loki, and others. Pirzada’s Moon Knight show premieres next week on the streaming service.
Nova is a big part of Marvel Comics’ cosmic storylines. Nova is Richard Rider and was created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr., first appearing as a Marvel character in September 1976’s The Man Called Nova #1. Richard Rider is from Earth and is a part of the Nova Corps, being brought into the group when a Nova Corps member named Rhomann Dey selected Rider to be his replacement. He’s been a member of the New Warriors, Defenders, and Secret Avengers at various points.
The Nova Corps were previously seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, though it was strongly suggested that they were destroyed when Thanos invaded their base planet of Xandar.
