Actor Oscar Isaac has finally confirmed reports dating back to October that he was signing on to portray the role of Marc Spector aka Moon Knight for the upcoming Marvel Studios TV series for Disney+. Marvel Entertainment and Isaac confirmed the news today on social media, showing the actor in front of a board of Moon Knight images.

The caption for the Instagram post reads, “WE ARE MOONKNIGHT. @marvelstudios #moonknight” Isaac’s has been heavily rumored to be on board for months, but it wasn’t actually confirmed by Marvel and Oscar Isaac until now. You can view that Instagram post below.

The upcoming Disney+ TV series, Moon Knight, is directed by Mohamed Diab. The action-adventure show will follow the “complex vigilante,” Marc Spector, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who will appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.

Moon Knight made his Marvel Comics debut in 1975. Mercenary Marc Spector becomes the agent of the Egyptian god Khonshu after he was left for dead on a mission in Egypt. After apparently being revived by Khonshu, Spector assumes the superhero identity of the cloaked avenger, Moon Knight.
