The upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX will be the end of the Skywalker Saga, according to Oscar Isaac. Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the current trilogy, spoke with Today (per IndieWire) and said that the film will cap the story of Anakin Skywalker and his descendants.

“It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga,” Isaac said “Nine stories. This is the culmination of the entire thing. What J.J. has done, and the entire Lucasfilm team, is incredibly fulfilling. It’s also special for us because you get to learn a lot more things about these characters.”

He also talked a bit about the footage of Carrie Fisher that will appear in the film, saying, “We’ve thought about her so much. Her spirit is there [in the film]. Her daughter, Billie Lourd, came back to play a part. Her spirit was there with us and we’re missing her.”

The film will open on December 20th.
