Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt Officially Sign On For Mad About You Revival

We reported back in December that Sony was in talks to revive Mad About You, with stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt in negotiations to return. Now there’s good news for fans of the show, as Entertainment Weekly reports the two have officially sign on to reprise their roles of Paul and Jamie Buchman. Danny Jacobson, who co-created the series with Reiser, is also set to come back.

The plan now is to shop the revival to various networks. NBC could be considered a strong candidate, as the original series ran there from 1992 to 1999. However, it wasn’t owned or produced by NBC, so it’s unknown if that’s where it will land. There are said to be multiple potential networks for the new season.

The original series followed a newlywed couple as they navigated everyday life while both maintaining steady careers. The series finale, “The Final Frontier,” actually showed what happened to Paul and Jamie as they got older, but it’s unknown if the revival would stick to that or ignore it as Roseanne‘s revival ignored its series finale.
