Red Notice is rocketing its way into the record books for Netflix, as it topped the viewership chart for the second week and is a hair’s breadth away from being the platform’s most watched film ever. The action comedy, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, was #1 with ease in its second week with 129.11 million hours viewed for the week ending November 21st.

As noted last week, the film set the record for the biggest opening weekend and is now closing in on the all-time viewership record. Through 11 days, the film has logged 277.9 million hours viewed to be the second-most viewed film ever on Netflix. #1 is Bird Box with 282.02 million hours viewed, a number that Red Notice will easily surpass very soon. Red Notice was of course an expensive film for Netflix, costing $200 million to produce, but even with that number the film is considered to be a success at this point. It seems likely that we’ll see a sequel, something that everyone involved has expressed interest in.

Elsewhere in this week’s top 10 English films, Johnson also found the #4 film of the week as Central Intelligence found its way to 14.91 million views. Those numbers come from overseas viewing, as it hit the top 10 across territories in the Americas (but not the US), Europe, and Asia. Reynolds’ 2020 Netflix film 6 Underground was also boosted by Red Notice’s strength and hit enough top 10 rankings in overseas markets to make its way into the top 10 at #9.

Outside of English films, the top film of the week was the Brazilian film Just Short of Perfect, directed by Ale McHaddo, which logged 9.63 million hours. It was followed by Alexandre Moratto’s Brazilian drama 7 Prisoners, which notched its second week at #2. Last week’s #1, Yara, slipped two spots to #3.

Arcane rose to #1 among English TV shows after being #2 last week, with the Tiger King 2 sequel series debuting at #2 and the live-action Cowboy Bebop series debuting at #6. Last week’s #1 show was season three of Narcos: Mexico which drops two spots to #3 this week.

And finally, non-English TV shows saw Squid Games fall out of the #1 spot for the first time since early September. The South Korean sensation was down to #3, but don’t shed any tears for it; it is Netflix’s most-watched TV series of all-time with extreme ease at 1.65 billion hours viewed. (#2 is Bridgerton season one with 625.49 million). The new non-English TV #1 is a new South Korean series, the horror show Hellbound which got off to a great start with 43.48 million hours viewed in just three days.
