Samoa Joe To Begin Filming On Twisted Metal This Month
Samoa Joe is set to begin filming on the second season of Peacock’s Twisted Metal later this month. PWInsider reports that the second season of the show is set to begin filming in Toronto later this month and is scheduled to film through October.
Joe will reprise his role of Sweet Tooth in the second season. The plot for the second season is described as follows:
“Following the finale of season one, John (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including in the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated when he reunites with his long-long sister, the vigilante Dollface.”
The AEW star was stretchered out and taken away in an ambulance on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, and it appears that he was likely written out for the filming.
The report notes that a number of WWE stars auditioned for a new character named Axel. Amonng those who auditioned are Montez Ford, Cedric Alexander, and Apollo Crews, though the production is moving ahead without any of them having been cast.
