Squid Game Season Two Teaser Welcomes The Players

Squid Game returns for its second season at the end of the year, and the first teaser welcomes the players for the game. Netflix posted the short teaser on Sunday that you can check out below. The video doesn’t show off too much, just featuring contestants’ backs with the numbers showing — until it gets to Player 456, which is of course Seong Gi-hun from season one.

The new season arrives on December 26th on Netflix and will be the penultimate season of the show, which was renewed for a third and final season last month. Season two sees Hwang Dong-hyuk return as director, writer, and producer. Cast members Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo are back from season one, joined by Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an. The new season is described as follows:

Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 456 billion won.
