Stills Released For Horror Film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey
Winnie the Pooh is now public domain, and that means a new horror film titled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is in the works. Jagged Edge Productions has released the first stills from the upcoming film, which re-imagines the famous children’s character and his buddy Piglet as deranged killers that go on a rampage after they are abandoned by a college-aged Christopher Robin.
Rhys Waterfield, who directed the film, told Variety that “Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult. Because they’ve had to fend for themselves so much, they’ve essentially become feral. So they’ve gone back to their animal roots. They’re no longer tame: they’re like a vicious bear and pig who want to go around and try and find prey.”
Waterfield noted that with the attention paid to the first stills going wild, “Because of all the press and stuff, we’re just going to start expediting the edit and getting it through post-production as fast as we can. But also, making sure it’s still good. It’s going to be a high priority.”
You can see some of the images below. The film does not yet have a release date.
