Arrow won’t be the departing the CW next year. Jared Padalecki posted a video to Twitter in which he, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins announced that Supernatural will end its run after its fifteenth season next year, which will feature twenty episodes. The show is one of the last vestiges of the WB left on the network, having survived the transition that many shows did not. It was originally conceived as a five season show by series creator Eric Kripke, but it got popular and kept getting renewed, and now it’s in the middle of a fourteenth season. Once the series has concluded, it will have ran for 327 episodes.

Ackles said: “Though we’re very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last. Fifteen years of a show that has certainly changed my life, I know it’s changed these two guys’ life. We wanted you to hear it from us. Though we’re excited abotu next year, it will bet he finale, the big grand finale of an institution. I will say this, a little word from Eric Kripke, the creator of this world and these characters, in a show about family it is amazing and it is the pride of his life that it became family.

Collins added: “We love you guys and this family is not going anywhere even though the show will come to an end.

In a statement, co-showrunners and executive producers Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer said: “Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve.
