The Bear, Succession & Beef Dominate At 75th Annual Emmy Awards
It was a dominating night for three shows at the 2024 Emmy Awards with The Bear, Succession and Beef cleaning up. The three shows powered their way to controlling their respective categories as The Bear and Succession took home six wins each in the Comedy and Drama categories, respectively, while Beef won five awards in the Limited or Anthology Series area.
Succession claimed wins for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor (Kieran Culkin), Lead Actress (Sarah Snook), Supporting Actor (Matthew Macfadyen), Directing (Mark Mylod) and Writing. The lone major Drama Series award the HBO show didn’t win was Supporting Actress, which went to Jennifer Coolidge for The White Lotus.
In the Comedy category, FX’s The Bear took home the wins for Outstanding Series, Lead Actor (Jeremy Allen White), Supporting Actor (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Supporting Actress (Ayo Edebiri), and Directing and Writing (Christopher Storer). Abbot Elementary’s Quinta Brunson won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
FInally, Beef won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Lead Actor (Steven Yuen), Lead Actress (Ali Wong), and Directing and Writing (Directing). Paul Walter Hauser won Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology or Movie for Apple’s Black Bird, and Niecy Nash-Betts won Supporting Actress for Netflix’s Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer.
