Tom Cruise Rumored For Hal Jordan In Green Lantern Corps (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

Heroic Hollywood reports that Tom Cruise was considered to play Hal Jordan in a reboot of Green Lantern, but he eventually passed on the role. A gossip site called Crazy Days and Nights noted in May that a “diminutive A+/A list actor” was up for the part, which is now confirmed to be Cruise.

However, Heroic Hollywood adds that Cruise eventually passed on the role because Jordan reportedly died in the script he read, and he “wanted no part of that.” The report claims that Cruise is the “frontrunner” to play Hal Jordan in the film, but Cruise is asking for the part about Jordan’s “death” to be changed.

DC Entertainment is currently developing Green Lantern Corps from a script by Geoff Johns. The film would purportedly feature both John Stewart and Hal Jordan. Ryan Reynolds previously starred in the 2011 Green Lantern film, which failed to kickstart a film franchise for the character.

DC Entertainment has not yet confirmed any stars, director or release date yet for the film.
