A First Date Turns Deadly In Trailer For Tech Thriller Drop
Christopher Landon is back with the thriller Drop, and the official trailer teases a date that turns deadly. Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the film, which you can check out below and teases the story of a woman who goes on a date only to find herself targeted by online drops telling her to kill her date or else.
The film is Landon’s first directorial effort since 2023’s We Have a Ghost and stars Meghann Fahy, Brandon Sklenar, Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffery Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson. Releasing on April 11th, it is described as follows:
Meghann Fahy plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.
She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.
