Lauren Cohan Discusses Her Future With The Walking Dead and Possible Maggie Spinoffs
Speaking to reporters at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Lauren Cohan spoke about her potential future with The Walking Dead franchise (via TV Line). Cohan was there to promote her new show, Whisky Cavalier.
Regarding the future of Maggie on The Walking Dead, she stated, “We’ll see what happens.” Previously, Cohan signed on for six of the first eight episodes of Season 9, and she signed on to another show. Regarding negotiations for the ninth season, she said, “I don’t think it was ’bad.’ I’ve done the show for a long time, so it was a long time to be in any character.
Cohan continued, “Sometimes. You just get quiet and listen to your inner guidance and [decide] it’s time to multitask.” She did leave the idea open of the character possibly continuing on in another series of movies for the franchsie like Andrew Lincoln’s Rick. She said, “There may have been some conversations, but everything is so early-days, ambiguous. [Again,] we’ll have to see what happens.”
Additionally, Cohan has said she doesn’t have much of an idea in mind for an ending or what’s next for the character of Maggie, stating, “I haven’t even thought about it. Really.”
Her new show, Whisky Cavalier, premieres on February 24.
