Cassady McClincy Joins The Walking Dead Season 9 Cast as Lydia

THR reports that Cassady McClincy (Love, Simon) has been cast in a key recurring role for The Walking Dead Season 9 on AMC. McClincy will portray Lydia, the daughter of Whisperers’ leader Alpha (Samantha Morton).

McClincy previously appeared as Jackie in Love, Simon. Her other TV roles include Castle Rock, Ozark, and Good Behavior.

Based on recent events that were different in the comics, it’s not yet clear how Lydia’s storyline in the TV series will differ from the original source material. The Whisperers are a mysterious group of survivors who disguise themselves with roamer skin in order to blend in and avoid getting noticed. They eventually become formidable enemies to Rick Grimes and his friends.

Additionally, Lydia had a romance with Rick’s son, Carl, in the comics, which will be have to be changed for the show for obvious reasons.
